How to Play 15 Ball Pool: A Super Simple Guide for Beginners
Imagine a big green table with colorful balls. You have a stick called a cue. Your goal? Hit the white ball so it bumps into other balls and makes them fall into holes called pockets. That's 15 ball pool!
This guide will teach you everything step by step. No confusing words. Just simple fun.
What Is 15 Ball Pool?
Think of it like this: you have 15 colored balls on a table. There is one white ball — that's your magic bumper car. You hit the white ball, it hits the colored balls, and the colored balls try to fall into the pockets (the holes at the corners and sides of the table).
The player who pockets the most balls wins. That's it!
The Parts of the Table
The pool table is like a big rectangle. It has:
- 6 pockets — 4 in the corners, 2 in the middle of the long sides
- The felt — the green cloth on top (like a soft carpet for balls)
- The rails — the bumpers on the sides that make balls bounce back
- The baulk line — an imaginary line near one end where you put the white ball to start
The Balls (1 to 15)
There are 16 balls total:
- 1 white ball (cue ball) — you hit this one
- 7 solid balls (numbers 1–7) — each is a different color, fully painted
- 7 striped balls (numbers 9–15) — each has a white band with a colored stripe
- 1 black ball (number 8) — special ball you need at the end
| Ball Number | Color | Type |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Yellow | Solid |
| 2 | Blue | Solid |
| 3 | Red | Solid |
| 4 | Purple | Solid |
| 5 | Orange | Solid |
| 6 | Green | Solid |
| 7 | Dark Red | Solid |
| 8 | Black | 8-Ball |
| 9–15 | Various | Striped |
How to Set Up the Game

How to Aim and Shoot
Here's the fun part — actually playing!
🖱️ On Desktop (Mouse)
- Aim: Move your mouse around the table. The cue stick follows your mouse. A white line shows you where the ball will go.
- Power: Hold down the left mouse button. A bar on the left fills up. The longer you hold, the harder you hit.
- Shoot: Let go of the mouse button! The cue ball flies forward.
📱 On Mobile (Touch)
- Aim: Drag your finger on the screen. The cue stick follows your finger.
- Power: Keep your finger pressed. The power bar goes up and down.
- Shoot: Lift your finger! The ball shoots with the power you chose.
⌨️ Keyboard
Use the arrow keys (← →) to aim. Press Space to charge power. Release Space to shoot.
The Rules in Simple Words
- You and your opponent take turns. Each turn, you get one shot (unless you pocket a ball — then you go again!)
- When you pocket a ball, you keep shooting. If you miss, it's the other player's turn.
- The 8-ball (black) is special. Only hit it into a pocket after you've pocketed all your other balls. If you miss, you lose!
How to Win
When all 15 balls are in pockets, the player who pocketed the most balls wins. In our game, the computer keeps track of the score for you!
